This 2 piece painting shows the two side a lot of us develop as we get older. One side being bright, complex, outgoing and beautiful and the other side being muted, dialed back, reserved but equally as beautiful. As we find ourselves we have breakthroughs to understand these sides make us who we are.

Pretty Girls & Princesses
“My art has always been an emotional outlet for me, it helps me feel heard when I can’t verbally speak. This piece represents a time in my life when I felt unseen, unheard, and the belief in self was wavering. Experiencing S/A and the emotional flooding of ill feeling resentment that comes with it, consumed and caused me to feel as if I was drowning. With each stroke of the paintbrush, I broke through my psychological barriers and depicted my pain into something not only beautiful but very close and dear to my heart.” Please feel free to connect with this piece in a way that is best for you, as it is open for interpretation.

Matthew 19:13 - 14
The inspiration behind Matthew " stems from the awe and excitement I feel in nature. My lifelong curiosity to understand and seek God's hand in His creations has been with me since childhood. Even as an adult, I find myself marveling at the clouds, the sun, and the trees I pass during my drives. Interpreting this scripture reminds me that God encourages me, as His daughter, to continue wandering, searching, and asking questions. This journey of learning and growth feels akin to a child discovering the world and their parent.

Amygdala
"amygdala.” was created during one of the hardest times of my life. Much of my art is deeply rooted in my mental health and personal growth. During the creation of this piece, I felt scattered and broken, a mere shell floating through existence. This piece represents the idea that even in our brokenness, there is beauty and purpose within us, untapped potential of astronomical value. It also speaks to the importance of learning to open up—there is breakthrough in being open and honest about what we’re going through. You aren't alone.

Decompress
Music and Art is the way I express my raw emotions, just as a raw recording, the "waves" of those emotions is my way to DECOMPRESS.

The Idea of the holy
This painting is the second stage of a triptych exploring addiction and recovery. The vibrant and chaotic visual elements symbolize the reawakening of the senses and the renewed enchantment of the world that often accompanies early recovery. The surreal composition, with its explosion of flora, fauna, and floating forms resembling cellular and parasitic entities, depicts this reawakening as perceived by someone beginning to emerge from the haze of addiction into the sensory and emotional overload of withdrawal. For me, this period of transformation represents the greatest breakthrough of my life.

Coventry Skateboarder
I snapped this photo of a Coventry Skateboarder nailing his landing after watching him and some of his friends play for at least an hour, all of them falling and getting back up. They left. This guy stayed and would not be distracted until he got landed on his feet. I was also there practicing shooting motion, working on the settings. So, it also represents a personal breakthrough for me.

A Tribute To The 1970s NYC
Breakthrough. In the world of Hip Hop music and graffiti art, the 1970s in NYC displayed a huge breakthrough in both. Setting the bar high with new and original creations in style, art, and sounds, the people of this period set some of the standards used to this day. Breakdown, Drum Break, Break Dance, Breakthrough!

Heart Ablaze
Using the dark black hues the artist depicts an urge and level of vulnerability by expressing them within the warm tones displayed in the art work. The warm hands that surround the heat is somewhat trying to protect the heart that serves as love within. I feel like my piece connects with the theme of the show because it is quite literally a breakthrough when you're trying nurture yourself while giving yourself to someone or something. It's a tiring process but that lights a fire within to keep your "Heart Ablaze".

Brain Storm
Brain Storm was made in 2014, and is an attempt to visualize my creative process. The varying lines, squares, and patterns represent how ideas flow, change, stall, overlap, and flourish. Many of these lines look similar, but none are exactly the same. Just like ideas can be similar, but take a work in various directions. Within this painting there are even a few "hidden" heads of one of my original characters. This piece represents how in the midst of the chaos that can be the brainstorming process, it only takes one idea to spark a creative breakthrough.

Currents
“Currents” showcases the power of parts working to create a whole. When viewed as a singular unit, the individual pieces bring each other to life creating ripples that radiate from the center. The plaster forms that make up this piece were pulled from a rubber mold created from a clay positive embedded with Goldfish shacks. This project is seen as a breakthrough moment for the artist where she decided to fully pursue the arts as a career. The exploration and process that went into this project greatly contributed to her evolving artistic voice.

Seed of Life
This artwork represents a breakthrough by capturing my personal journey from disconnection to deep connection with nature and the living world. During a transformative summer in the Red River Gorge, I transformed fear into respect as I grew more familiar with the plants and animals around me. This piece, starting with a womb and expanding through layers of earth, plants, and stars, symbolizes my personal journey from isolation to belonging. It also illustrates the interconnection of all life and the limitless creative potential held within the initial seeds of life.
